Brown spots in grass #757530

Asked June 21, 2021, 3:54 PM EDT

I have been getting light brown dead spots in a certain area of my lawn the past few years. It mostly shows up when it’s dry. This year it’s worse. Area is about 10’ x 12’. I water often but doesn’t seem to help much. I had attributed before to Japanese beetles, but question that this year.

Thank you for writing and for the pictures.

You need to peel off the top of the turf to look for grubs.  Let me know what you find.

There are japanese beetles and chafer beetles.  Different months.  https://extension.umn.edu/yard-and-garden-news/fall-turf-grass-problems-grubs-might-be-culprit

I need a close up of the grub if you find one.
