Bugs attacking lilac bushes! Help what do we do we’ve never had these before there’s swarms of them on our lilac bushes.

Hi,

The good news is that they are not lilac borers. Are they eating the leaves or just hanging out in the tree?
The first thing I would try is hitting them with a strong blast from the hose to see if they will disperse.
