Pencil cactus #756426

I just bought a pencil cactus a couple weeks ago a d it is developing white patches on it. What is it? How do I treat it. It does NOT seem like mealy bugs.

Your cactus might have scale. I don’t think it looks like Mealy bugs either. Can you find a magnifying glass and look at it more closely? A 10 X lens would be best but those can be hard to find.
