Tiny leaf spots on oak leaves #755860

Asked June 13, 2021, 1:06 PM EDT

I have some new tiny spots that’s developed on my oak tree leaves. I think this is a Postoak. I’ve included pictures of the branch and close up of the leaves. Could you possibly diagnose this and recommend a treatment plan?

Thanks for the excellent photos.  Because we have had such a wet year, I think that this is probably Tubakia leaf spot.  http://agrilife.org/plantclinic/files/2013/11/102-Tubakialeafspot.pdf

As the fact sheet states, it is more common on Red oaks, but there are two pathogens, Tubakia hallii and T. dryina, that do infect Post oak.  It is best to remove fallen leaves to minimize infection of new growth, but as we move into dryer weather, the conditions will be less favorable for disease development.
