Are these fungal hyphae on dragonfly #755853

Attached is a closeup photo of a dragonfly which I believe is a Ladona Julia. Curious if the white “ruff” visible behind head is fungal. Don’t see it on photo of another individual (also attached).

Or are they bristles on the cuticle?

Natural coloration. Males have white; females do not.  We are not an entomology site.  You may want to post on an entomology site for further information. See:
