Carefully examine pictures. Are there any detailed remedies or amendments needed for Redhaven-Peach dwarf cultivar tree ? Peach tree planted three years ago is slightly elevated on site has clay mixed with these organic bought products: Sun Grow Black Gold, Foxfarm, Premium Sphagnum Peat Moss, Garden Magic, Baccto Lite all might have enriched soil. Temperatures had fluctuated downward often during Spring 2021. Before bloom buds surfaced had sprayed solution Organic Neptune Harvest fish & seaweed fertilizer. Peach tree had shedded some immature fruit after flowering but was removed from ground. Peach tree was thinned out too. Detected and removed unusual leaf patterns. From rain water stored in 50 gallon barrels is supplemental water. Rain water is poured over Peach tree base from a five gallon bucket at least three times when needed to offset dry spells. Noticed exposed Peach tree root. How to help preserve Peach for seasonal harvest ?

Thank you for your question.

Based on the season, photos, and your description of events, I believe this is a case of Peach Leaf Curl which is caused by the fungus, Taphrina deformans.

Taphrina deformans overwinters on buds and the bark of trees.

During cool, wet conditions in early spring, spores from the fungus will infect the leaves when buds begin to swell.

Once symptoms appear, it is too late to control the disease this season and will have to wait until the end of the season to manage the disease.
