Some type of lilac tree or shrub #754462

I was given to small trees a couple years ago and I recently put them in the ground and cannot figure out what type of tree they are this year they finally flowered but I'm still struggling to figure out what type of tree and or maybe lilac shrub can you help me figure out what it is? It wouldn't let me upload pictures if you could email I would be happy to attach them to an email

It looks like a type of lilac called a late lilac (Syringa villosa).  It's the best guess based on the photo.
