Hello, my Echinacea plants are just starting to come up and there wasn’t a problem with the new growth initially. However, subsequent leaf growth has been abnormal. The leaves are clumped together, small, malformed, and there are a few small brown spots on the leaves. The photos are from two different plants. I don’t see any aphids or other insects. Thank you for your help.

Although you don't see them, the symptoms look like aphid damage. In the second photo it looks like honeydew. However, it also looks like white flies on the leaves. I cannot enlarge enough to see what those white upright things are. Finally, there is always aster yellows. I am giving you two links. See if you can match up what you are seeing. Thank you, Barbara,
I will try to look for hidden bugs.
Sincerely,
Rosalind
