I've noticed some of the berries on my Serviceberry bush have turned black and are falling off. Do you think this is from cold damage or something else? What do you recommend I do now or in future years?

Expert Response
A number of people have reported serviceberry crop failure in Minnesota this year and we agree that frost during bloom time this year accounts for it.
According to the following publication, "the early flowers are susceptible to frost damage and it is best to avoid planting in a frost pocket. Full sun locations are best."
