This weed showed up last summer in our yard and flower beds. It can grow up to 2 feet. It is sticky and can cause a rash to bare skin. I ripped out as much as I could last summer. It is back with a vengeance, can you identify this weed and tell me how to get rid of it? Thanks

I believe this is Galium aparine, or catchweed bedstraw. This is a summer or winter annual. The plants will die after a year but they reproduce by seed so you probably have a seed reserve in your soil. You need to prevent them from producing seed.

Having them in your yard and flower beds makes them harder to treat with herbicides. You can treat the ones in your lawn with any broadleaf weed killer made for home lawns. I would recommend gloves and hand pulling for your flower beds.
Thank you for the information. It has confirmed what I thought it is.
