I'd like to know what kind of insect is this because it is has been appearing in my yard

The insect in your photo looks like a ground beetle. It could be a woodland ground beetle. They eat insects and are thought to be beneficial to gardens because the eliminate pests.

I found out that they are blister Beatles they are harmful to birds they are harmful to livestock if eaten by either one of them I did not want them around my house because we have pets I do not want my birds eating them because the birds eat the worms and I alerted Amy kovachar about them so I thank you for your response they are no longer around my house because I've used my pesticide I do like being outside and I am outside together was not working
