This damage looks typical for that.
Prune out affected branches using a pruner that is sterilized in bleach, lysol, or alcohol. Cut back to live wood. Make the cuts diagonally above the leaf node. Carefully remove all clippings from the area.

Thank you for your new pictures. I believe that I see tiny aphids on the stems and leaves especially on image 0810.
The plant should recover. You can use bonide, ladybugs (available in bulk at garden stores), insecticidal soap.
