Dutch elm disease data #752731

Asked May 28, 2021, 2:13 PM EDT

My name is Dr. Geoffrey Donovan, and I'm a scientist with the USDA Forest Service in Portland, Oregon. I'm looking for data on tree loss from Dutch elm disease in cities in Ohio. Ideally, I'd like to know how many trees were lost by year in a city, but any data on elm loss would be extremely useful. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

Expert Response

Dr. Donovan,

I'm not sure that I can be of much help with this one, but the USFS Northern Research Laboratory in Delaware Ohio is conducting research on American elm and would probably be the best source for information on the species in Ohio.  Leila Pinchot from the lab would be a great place to start.
