how do I get rid of strawberry vines that seem to be spreading through my lawn

Dig them out. Spot-spray with a liquid broad-leaf weed-killer for lawns containing triclopyr or by spot-spraying with a wide spectrum herbicide that kills everything herbicide, such as Round-Up. These chemical work best in late summer and early fall when weed are actively growing.
