Pine tree insect damage #752196

Asked May 26, 2021, 7:56 AM EDT

I have a Pine tree that appears to be dyeing and am wondering if it might be the Pine beetle and what might be he treatment for the healthily appearing trees around it. I have attached a couple of pictures that might help in identification. Thank you

Hi Ken,

That looks like a white pine and the beetles are probably secondary.  White pine decline is more often caused by cultural and environmental problems than by insects or disease. Heat stress and heavy clay soils are often the cited as the cause.
