Dead limbs on my ash tree #752119

Asked May 25, 2021, 6:00 PM EDT

Can I get someone to take a look at my ash tree and the dead limbs? 75% of the tree looks healthy, but one main upper limb did not leaf this spring. The bark on the dead branches that were removed looks a little odd to me.

Maggie, hi,  I suspect from the pictures that your ash tree might be infested with Emerald Ash Borer, which has been spreading throughout the area in recent years.  I suggest that you contact a licensed arborist - there are many in the area, and you can find one here:  https://www.treeandlawncareco.org/ .

The arborist would be able to come out, inspect the tree, and give you some recommendations.
