Can you identify this weed? #752010

Asked May 25, 2021, 10:40 AM EDT

This spring this weed has been growing in our Apple Valley yard, mostly in rocks around the deck, but also in the lawn. I can't find it in your listings, but on Google, it looks like "Veronica" speedwell. It has little blue flowers (not purple like creeping charlie) and lots of little spiky leaves on the tips. I have been losing the battle trying to pull all the chickweed in our grass, now this! We've also had more moss the last couple of years than ever in our 23 years here-- changing climate??

Heal-all  or (Prunella vulgaris) is a member of the mint family. Control is usually more effective with products containing triclopyr. Selective, postemergence broadleaf herbicides can be used to control weeds in the mint family. Commonly available homeowner products contain one or more of the following active ingredients: 2,4-D, 2,4-DP, MCPP, MCPA, dicamba, triclopyr, carfentrazone, sulfentrazone, quinclorac. Control of members of the mint family plants is rather poor when only 2,4-D is used. Products containing MCPP, MCPA and dicamba usually provide better results.
