Is this a weed or a perennial flower? #751117

Asked May 20, 2021, 3:20 PM EDT

Hello! I am renting a home and plants like the one in the attached photo are popping up all over. I am wondering if they are weeds or a flower that a previous tenant planted. I don't want to pull up anything that might be nice to keep! I am a resident in the Hudson Valley area of New York State. Thank you PS I am not a resident of Benton, but was unable to clear the county seleciton.

Congratulations on your new home rental! It looks to me as though you have some Asiatic lilies in your future. They bloom in summer and come in a broad range of colors.

If you cut them to enjoy indoors, leave a good amount of the stem and leaves on the plant to continue to photosynthesize and gather strength in the bulb for next year's flowers.

Enjoy!

Thank you for your advice. Here are some photos of the lilies that recently bloomed on those stems! Had a fight with the Scarlet lily beetles but looks like we won!
