Cherry tree installation #750960

Asked May 19, 2021, 7:40 PM EDT

I am interested to plant a fruit bearing cherry tree in my front yard here in Salem, Oregon. The HOA that governs my community has told me preliminarily that I can't plant the tree because it would create a hazard. Is there anyone at OSU Agriculture Extension that can provide any advice on this issue? Bill Nesmith <personal data hidden>

Neil,

We did have a discussion on this issue but I thought you were going to follow-up and send me written information about planting and managing cherry trees.  Does such information exist?  If there is any info that is specific to any hazards related to cherry tree debris that falls on the ground and/or sidewalks.  It would be most useful to get this type of information.

Kind regards,
