This flowering and very fragrant tree is in bloom now in Tigard, OR Can you tell me what it is?

Snowbell, Styrax are lovely trees covered with white blooms now. More information is available at the Oregon State Landscape Plants page here.

Japanese snowbell or fragrant snowbell? The pages give descriptions and images, but your nose is the easiest way to tell which the tree is when it's in bloom.

The seed-set can be heavy, meaning lots of babies underneath. You might collect seed or ask owner for seedlings. They are often available in area nurseries in stock or by special order.

Oooh, thanks for that! I assume they need lots of sun though, of which I am sorely lacking.
