Here is some information though.
Pawpaws DO self-pollinate. She has grown them for years. Here’s her note: Although it is said that paw paws require pollen from a different plant to set fruit, I've discovered this is not always accurate. I planted two trees for cross-pollination. Before they were mature enough to set fruit, one was killed to the ground by the winter. Fortunately, it was on its own roots and re-sprouted. However, the re-sprouted plant remained small and flower-less for a number of years. Meanwhile, the other tree reached fruiting size without a partner. I hand-pollinated the flowers and always got fruit.I might add that during those springs when I get lazy or too busy and DON'T hand-pollinate, the fruit set is much smaller. So, hand-pollinate (I use a cheapo watercolor paint brush but maybe cotton swabs would also work) for maximum fruit set. Some flowers are not ready to release their pollen, some do not have receptive stigmas; the timing is different on the same tree so you might want to do it 2-3 times
