Gypsy Moth Management #749904

Asked May 14, 2021, 11:57 AM EDT

Does vinegar applied with a spray bottle kill gypsy moth caterpillars? If so, does it work during every instar phase? And will it work on a hatching egg mass?

Thank you.

Hi,

I guess if you sprayed the caterpillars with enough, possibly to point of drowning them, you could kill them with vinegar.  It would probably work best on smaller and freshly hatched caterpillars.  The microbial insecticide Dipel would be a better choice.
