I have a Silver Maple that I planted 8years ago! It had a severe gall problem every year. I had read that there is no fix for this infestation. Well? With some research this spring I sprayed it with neem oil on several occasions. This completely stopped the galls. I did find two leaflets that I found a few galls and plucked them. But over all it cured the infestation.

It’s great that you’ve discovered an effective remedy. Because the mites overwinter on the host trees, including silver maples, dormant oil sprays can be quite effective. For more information about the galls, see
