Eliminating Russian olives #749838

Asked May 13, 2021, 8:22 PM EDT

Hello - We have a huge Russian olive tree we would like to cut down. Is there any sort of funding available to help Colorado homeowners cover the cost of removing noxious trees? I seen to recall at one time grants were available. Thank you - Debbie Crawford

Expert Response

Hi Debbie,

Many Counties in Colorado do have programs that help cover costs of removing listed noxious weeds. I believe Garfield County does have a cost-share program for this but you will need to check with their Vegetation Management department. Steve Anthony is the Vegetation Manager for Garfield and his number is<personal data hidden>, ext. 4305. Here is the link to their website: https://www.garfield-county.com/vegetation-management/

Best,

Denyse
