Possible Spotted LaterFly in Manassas #749459

Asked May 12, 2021, 11:24 AM EDT

I recently killed what I thought was a stink bug but I think that it was really a Spotted Laternfly because I remember thinking that I had not previously seen one at my house and there was something different about how it looked in that it was high in the front and low in the back. Stink bugs were usually evenly distributed.

No.  I didn’t know that it existed at the time, but I remember noticing that it seemed different than the stink bugs that I had seen before.  Based on the article, I am likely to see another one if I am right.

Thanks, I am really hoping it is not spotted lanternfly but if you see it again please collect it into a jar or take a picture. These links have some good images of SLF:

Will do.  I also hope not because I’ve got an herb garden including basil and will be planting vegetables.
