Do you have any resources for someone looking to start a honey bees colony?

New Castle County Delaware

Expert Response

Hello Michael,
The best place to start learning about honey bees and beekeeping is through your local honey bee association. In Delaware the Delaware Beekeepers Association has three local county chapters. Each county chapter has its own monthly meetings. There website is https://www.delawarebeekeepers.com/
They will post any upcoming events. If you live in PA there are many bee clubs depending on where you live. For example I am in Chester County and the Chester County Beekeepers Association is also very active and holds monthly meetings and all sorts of educational events. Here is their website
https://www.chescobees.org/
It really depend on where you live, but I recommend getting plugged into the local beekeeping club!

Sincerely,

Debbie
