Invasive Grass #749398

Asked May 11, 2021, 9:10 PM EDT

Hello. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed an increasing presence of an invasive grass. I was told by a lawn care professional that the only way to eliminate this grass is to use something like Roundup or tons of them out. Last Fall, I dug much of it out but see that I missed some or it had already seeded before I did my work. I am looking for advice on how to remove. If it requires Roundup (or something similar), how long do I need to wait to reseed. Attached a re a few pictures for reference. Appreciate any advice you can provide. Thanks much.

Expert Response

We think the invasive grass is quackgrass. And it's true there is no selective herbicide to control it.  Using a non-selective herbicide such as glyphosate and reseeding is usually recommended.

Typically, it's OK to reseed 10-14 days after application but be sure to follow label instructions.
