Hello Richard,
Plant identification can be very difficult via photos. I have shared this image with a few other individuals and here are the thoughts:
This looks to be bulbous bluegrass (Poa bulbosa).
The seeds have not darkened yet. If you dig it up there should be small bulbs in the roots.
