Seeking help diagnosing apricot tree disease #745399

Asked April 20, 2021, 6:12 PM EDT

Hello. I live near Mt. Tabor in Portland and have a bunch of fruit trees sort of crammed into my front yard (not my doing!). The apricot tree bore a handful of okay fruit 3 years ago when I moved in, then produced at least 40 fantastic fruit 2 years ago... then last year it started oozing sap and the leaves and fruit developed big brown splotches and nothing was edible. I had not pruned at all. This year I pruned a lot (it needed it!) in the late winter, but haven't fertilized. There are now lots of little fruits, but that sappy disease is back in earnest, pretty much all over. Do you know what it is, and is there any hope for the tree? Thank you!!
