Evergreen Trees with what looks like red berries them #745181

Asked April 19, 2021, 4:15 PM EDT

I have four evergreen trees in my yard and all of them have what looks like red berries growing on them. These trees do produce pine cones which help with the identity of the type of tree. I am hoping these red berries are not going to turn into pine cones because these trees have thousands of those berries on them. Thank you for your help. Jim

Greetings again--I reconfirmed with one of our foresters, the “red berries” you described are the buds expanding!  On different conifers you may also see a red coloration of the male pollen sources and the (female) cones.  It can be quite ornamental at times!  Thanks for your question.

Thank you for your answer.  Could you tell me what type of conifer tree this is?
