Anaerobic soil safe to transplant? #745153
Asked April 19, 2021, 2:40 PM EDT
Hello-I used potting soil from a bag that had been partially opened and outside all winter, allowing water to get in but not much air. I used it for transplanting seedlings into bigger containers- some seedlings are fine, except for the following:
1. Tomato leaves have some dead spots, and some leaves are curled a bit;
2. Sunflower leaves have white spots;
3. White mold on surface of one set of seedlings.
4. One pepper plant has a dead spot.
Are these seedlings safe to set out into the garden? I recently learned about fusarium and vermiticulum wilts and how pernicious they are. I don't want to set out contaminated soil into my garden. But I'd hate to throw out all my hard work this year!
Thank you so much in advance.
Sincerely,
