Peggy: From your picture, it could be a challenge to fertilize each plant. What you are aiming for is about one to one and a half cups of ammonium sulfate (21-0-0) per plant. You could put some on one side of the hedge and then move to the other side of the row. The exact amount per plant isn't critical. The ideal time to do it would be right before a rain. But it should be done soon. If you have a soaker hose in place to water the plants in the summer, you could put the fertilizer next to the soaker hose and turn it on. Hope this helps.
