grass type weeds in lawn #744576

Asked April 15, 2021, 6:30 PM EDT

we have patches of grass in our lawn that we don't necessarily want. I included some photos and would like to know what species of grass they are and should I get rid of them and if so, how? Thanks, Keith Henjum

It looks like foxtail.   I cannot tell from a photo which variety.  Is this plant a weed? : Garden : University of Minnesota Extension (umn.edu)  For small patches, digging it is the accepted method.  For chemical control, go to this link and click on the number behind the product and it will explain what that product is.  Control options for common Minnesota lawn and landscape weeds : University of Minnesota Extension (umn.edu)

Thanks for the help and the link.  I think I will just dig it out and reseed with a lawn grass mix.  Also thanks for the quick response.
