efficient organizations involved in reforestation following our recent fires #744572

Asked April 15, 2021, 6:12 PM EDT

As a senior, I am able to have limited impact on the physical side of getting new trees in the ground, but for reasons of climate change, and reforestation here in Oregon, I consider doing so an important part of the responsibility we have to nature. Can you tell me who is involved in a meaningful way in doing that, and if you have a relative efficiency opinion, I would appreciate it if you would share it. I got my regular dun from the Arbor Day Foundation, touting there hope to plant trees (along with all sorts of free gifts if I send them money), and Oregon Parks Forever seems to be expanding its activity beyond its stated mission, but one wonders where the infrastructure will come from. HELP. I want to contribute, but not to administrative and fundraising expensive of more that 25%.

Expert Response

There is an organization that may be of interest to you.  Friends of Trees located in North Portland is an organization that plants trees, accepts donations, features volunteer opportunities for interested people. It has been active for many years and as far as I have heard have maintained high marks for their work.

I am not sure if I was able to answer your question but my goal was to offer you a look at another organization that specializes in trees.  Hope this has been of some help to you.
