Live Oak Leaves losing color #743981
Asked April 12, 2021, 5:30 PM EDT
After the deep freeze, our oak in our front yard appeared to put on green leaves. A week or so ago it appeared all the leaves turning copper/ brown. The tree is 28 years old. The tree was last pruned Jan 27, 2021. It is watered occasionally by soaker/ drip hose the last few years. Appreciate ideas on what may be wrong with it.

Expert Response
Thank you for asking! It is normal for live oak trees to loose their leaves at this time of year. The extended freeze we experienced in February accelerated this process. I suggest you wait a bit longer to assess any damage that may have occurred.
If new leaves are not forthcoming, you should contact a certified arborist to evaluate your tree. Find one at www.treesaregood.com/findanarborist.
We hope all is well.
