Bugs on African Violet #740359

Asked March 23, 2021, 1:07 PM EDT

My african violet has bugs on some of the stems and leaf. Can you tell me what this is and how to treat it? Hanna Iceneogle

Expert Response

It is very difficult to identify tiny insects by pictures. The insects may be brown scale. Scale are slow moving insects that measure 1/16 to 3/8 inch and have oyster-shaped bodies. They are very difficult to control. The following sites have more information about this pest.  Keep the African violet away from any other houseplant in your house.
