This is an adult Orange Assassin Bug (Pselliopus barberi). They overwinter as an adult insect. How can one tell that it is an adult insect? Only adult insects have fully developed wings as this specimen does. It is a true bug in the Order Hemiptera. It is also a predator that eats other insects for its food throughout its life.

Thanks for the quick response. I've seen other assassin bugs in my yard, but never the orange type.
