Saving my Money Tree! #738232

Asked March 09, 2021, 12:07 PM EST

I have had a money tree for about 2 years now.  It lived in the same spot in a big window that gets direct sunlight for a few hours each day and indirect for the rest of the day.  For the past few months the leaves have started to fade from a nice vibrant green to more and more yellow.  The leaves have been slowly turning yellow, several stalks at a time, and then will fall off.  Some yellowing leaves have dark spots/patches or holes in them.  I only really started to get concerned when the yellowing happened to a couple of new growth stalks. I tried moving it around the house to get less sunlight, but I am not sure it made a difference.  After googling, I was concerned it was root rot, so I pulled it out and washed out as much of the dirt I could from the original pot. I sprayed the roots with an anti-fungal solution I found on the internet.  The roots were mostly brown, but not slimy and did not smell bad, so I don't think it has root rot.  The roots were very compact, though, so I repotted with new soil and a couple of fertilizer beads in a larger pot with drainage.  It has been almost two weeks since re-potting and the plant is doing another round of yellowing and falling off.  I worry the new growth it is trying to grow will yellow and die too, and it won't have any leaves left at all!  Help!  Thanks for any guidance you can provide. -- Best, Natalie Tarasar
