What is this? What can I do to remedy it? Can I save this plant? How to prevent?

Expert Response

Hi Frances,

Looks like sun scald to me.  Some plants can be damaged by harsh sunlight.  Some garden plants can slowly be adapted by moving plants gradually into garden conditions; others need to be protected from harsh sunlight throughout their life.

Carefully remove the damaged leaves and leaving the smaller newer leaves.  I predict it will bounce back over time.

 Good luck!
