1. Small black bugs that gather in window sill of South facing bedroom.
2. The bugs can fly, but appear to mostly crawl.
3. They are not fungus gnats. They are not attracted to my plants soil or foliage. I put out vinegar traps and they were not attracted, though some did land in they largely ignored it.
4. They do seem to be attracted to light. I hung sticky fly trap from a light and caught quite a few.

I believe that is a rove beetle (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae).
Rove beetles comprise the second largest of family of beetles with 54,000 species known worldwide and 3,200 North American species. Most rove beetles are predaceous and are commonly found on carrion, dung and other decomposing organic material where they eat fly eggs and larvae, and other insects that utilize such material as food.
