Euphoria Amaak thorns turning white #737246

We took a clipping of an euphoria Amaak (we think that is what it is!) let it dry out for a few days then planted in well draining cactus soil ( we have several other different type cactus!) it was located outside in a sunny area but when it turn cold we brought it inside. The variegated green portion still looks healthy but the thorns are turning white on the lower half? we have had it about 6-7 weeks now

After reading your question, and looking at your photos, I don't think there is a problem. Since this is a variegated cacti, it looks like the lower spines do have a tendency to turn white. I found this photo so you can compare:
