Spruce tree needles turning brown and falling off #733227

Asked November 04, 2020, 10:37 PM EST

I have a large beautiful spruce tree that started losing needles last fall.  The condition is now worse with a section now bare.  The needles first turn brown and then within a week to 10 days fall off.  An arborist looked at it this spring and said it was a lack of sunshine in the affected area.  I had a neighboring tree cut and thinned to allow full sun but this fall the branches with and without sun are impacted. I had a second opinion today but they had nothing to suggest except to ask you.   HELP!  Many thanks.

Hello,

The photos you sent...are they on the backside of the tree? What direction does it face?

Are all of the browning needles occurring in the inner canopy? There's nothing browning on the outside?

How does the tree get watered?
