Parasite in nose and ear #730959

Asked October 16, 2020, 4:02 PM EDT

I went travelling and spent 2 nights in an itchy bed in Shanghai.  Then for the next three weeks they were there.  When I lay down, my head was itchy.  I got up and this large bug fell out.  I googled and it looked like a large bed bug. When I got home, the doctor said I had bed bug bites and mites.  7 months later (no thks to covid 19) I still feel like it's made a home up my nose and in my ears.  I read that bed bugs don't lay eggs in the hair.  What have I got? I read ivermectin does not cross the blood brain barrier, so could this be mites living up my nose.  What can I do to kill the mites in my ears and nose.  I recently had a gum operation for a bacterial infection and I believe it's due to the parasites in my nose.  Help appreciated.

The picture does not look like a bed bug at all. And , NO!, bed bugs would NOT live inside your nose, or stay on your body for extended periods of time. I do not know of mites that would live in you nose or ears for an extended length of time.

You need to consult a doctor and pay close attention to his/her recommendations. You may want to ask him or her about "delusory parasitosis" if no other causes for what you are feeling can be found.
