Tarantula plant #726491

Asked September 23, 2020, 11:22 PM EDT

Can I grow a tarantula plant from its rhizome? My method so far is with the use of perlite as growing medium. But I'm struggling to find the best temperature and feeding requirements?

Thank you for your question. There are at least 3 different plants called "tarantula plant." Yours appears to be the one resembling a fern, which is more commonly called a rabbit's or hare's foot fern, whose care and propagation are described here: https://hnr.k-state.edu/doc/houseplant-pubs/Fern%20Hares%20Foot.pdf Good luck!

Thank you so much Kristena. Yes, when I say tarantula plant my research always takes me to rabbits foot, however they differ in colour dramatically. I am trying to revive this 20yr old plant from its rhizome after it was affected by covid and left in the work office for 4weeks. I will definitly be using your advice. Hopefully I get good results to update you in time.
