What type of grass is this and how do I control it. It appeared in the spring after reseeding with fescue. No fescue sprouted so I wonder if the bag of seeds Was contaminated.

The pictures are a little fuzzy, but that looks like crabgrass. The best way to control it is with a pre-emergent herbicide applied in mid-February. Look for products that contain dithiopyr or pendimethalin. Scott's Halts or Sta-Green Crab Ex are a couple of brand names to look for..
