I have had this small palm tree for around 12 years now if not more and this year something has started to grow out of it.
Initially it was a long stick that started to grow and slowly slowly turn green and open up.
It is very tall and i have never seen such thing before. Any idea what this is? Does it have a name?

Thank you for your question. Your palm tree is growing flower stalks, soon to be seeds. You can remove them, or harvest them and grow more palm
trees. Good luck!
