4 YyEARS OLD MAGNOLIA DISEASED #714956

Asked August 18, 2020, 6:01 PM EDT

My Magnolia tree is 4 years old and have bloomed well. We pruned it hard, to keep it as a shrub. We do it every year.

This summer all the leaves are rusting, completely with small spots and yellowish. Now the new leaves are coming out really wrinkled, scrunched, and rolling inside. I sprayed for fungus to no avail.

What Should I do? Pretty soon it will be fall when they should have buds for next year. I think I lost this tree. If so, I need to buy another before January.

What do you recommend?

This looks like a fungal disease of some kind.

This year's severe weather has caused a lot of stress to many woody plants in home gardens. It is best to get the advice of a trained expert to diagnose the problem.

Hope this helps.
