Sunflowers #714803

Asked August 18, 2020, 1:09 PM EDT

I have a small garden , have always planted sunflowers. This year I have bugs on the plants and have tried 3 different home remedies.. Nothtig is working. The bugs are eating off all the petals. Not bothering leaves or stalk, but every petal is gone. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you. Anne Miller

Can you send a photo of the insect? I really can't suggest something without knowing what it is.

tried to get a picture  . One pic is a yellow bug and the other one is a black bug. Thanks for your help.

It's hard to see it well enough to say what they are. If you don't mind you can just pick them off and squish them or drown them in water. You also could try spraying them with insecticidal soap.
