Hi
I have attached pics of a tree which last year was healthy and happy and this year the top did not have leaves. There are pics of some type of problem on the trunk. Is this tree a loss? Should i remove it? Is it salvagable?
Thanks

Does this tree have any leaf buds at the end of the branches? What other problems except for the one ulcer is there? We need you to send some more close up pictures so we can see it better. I fear for the worst for the tree, since it looks like it is gone
Here are more pics. Maybe you can better see with these. Yes there are leaf buds at the end of the branchess that have no leaves but they are dry and dead. the growth is at the lower half of the tree. If there is no hope, should i cut it down and replant?
Thanks

More than likely the tree is dead. So you can dig it up and remove it. The other option is to leave it till spring and see if it sprouts
