Delphinium Problems this Year & Forest Plant ID #710387

Hello, we always have BEAUTIFUL delphiniums but not this year. I always start them off (when they are about a foot tall) with a capful of Bayer Systemic Fertilizer and about a tsp of lime worked into the soil around the plant. They were doing great, but by mid July they started developing black spots on the leaves and black stems. I tried treating with a 70% Neem spray but it didn’t help. We ended up taking down the plants the end of July. :-( I’ve enclosed some pictures — I hope this wasn’t blight.... Do I have to change out the soil or amend the soil?
I’ve also enclosed some pictures of a berry-bearing plant in the woods behind our house for ID. Thanks so much for your help!

Expert Response
This is either bacterial stem rot or diaporthe blight. Either way, the plants should be destroyed and burned or disposed of at the landfill.
Those berries look to be high bush cranberries. In a few weeks you may notice a musky odor. If that is the case you'll know for sure they are high bush cranberries.
